Working Contract

A working contract is known as an "employment contract." The employment contract is an agreement whereby the employer and employee agree to the terms of employment. Consequently, both the duties of the employer and the employee are contained in the contract. Also, the employment contract may contain the length of employment, or whether the employment is considered "at will," where the employee could be terminated at any time for any reason. Moreover, an employment contract can include many other provisions, such as payment, overtime, bonuses, medical benefits, vacation time, sick time, paid holidays, disability insurance, retirement, pension benefits and stock options. In addition, an employment contract usually includes provisions regarding the manner in which disputes are resolved. The employment contract may also contain "non-compete" provisions, where the employee may not compete with a similar employer in the future, and confidentiality provisions.
