Work Contract Sample

An work contract is also known as an "employment contract." An employment contract specifies the rights and responsibilties of both the employer and employee. There is no standard format for an employment contract. However, when drafting the employment contract, there are various provisions which should be included. These include the following: the names and addresses of both the employer and employee; the starting date of the employee; the job title and description; the address of the site of employment; payment details, including the salary or hourly rate and how the payment is made; the expected hours each week; holiday and sick days; pension benefits; grievance management; termination of contract notice; disciplinary procedures; and the signatures of the employer and employee. The contract may contain any other relevant provisions, depending upon the particular type of job and industry.
